In the wake of the Simian Flu, which wiped out most of humanity and left the apes as the dominant species on Earth, Caesar rose to become the leader of the apes and fought for their freedom and equality. He established a colony in the oasis and taught his fellow apes the value of cooperation, empathy, and intelligence. However, not all apes were willing to accept his teachings, and some clans remained isolated and hostile to outsiders.
